Iko Movement is a space for those wanting to explore, learn, and create through the power of movement.
The Studio
Iko Movement is located at 316 SW 11th Ave Suite #300, Portland, OR 97205. We have 23 stainless steel poles separated into two open studios. Our third room contains no poles and is used for our flexibility and contortion classes. There are three bathrooms on-site which may also be used as dressing rooms. We have yoga mats, therabands, yoga blocks, crash pads, towels, spray bottles, and foam rollers available on-site for students to use.
Our studio’s teachings are based on a framework of safety, authenticity, growth, and empowerment. The founder, Lillian, created Iko Movement to provide a space for people to unapologetically be themselves while connecting with their bodies. She celebrates the true origins of Pole, as well as her Erotic Dance Style that’s rooted in stripping and Black culture. Her experiences stripping — working in the SW industry, along with her untraditional dance background has shaped her values, and helped her flip the script on mainstream movement and dance culture.
Our coaches are highly knowledgeable in their craft. We offer a diverse skill set specializing in pole, flexibility, contortion, floor work, choreography, freestyle, handstands, and more. We welcome all levels, skill sets, and backgrounds. Come as you are.
